CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
The benefits of brewer's yeast and the innovative coupling with lactic yeast
Turval Laboratories have developed and patented a biotechnological production process for the selection and the typification of particular strains of highly efficient lactic yeasts, resolving at the same time problems of stability and of preservation which in the past were the main obstacles for the utilization of these probiotics.
The singular mechanism of action of BioVal, which takes place predominantly in the intestine, is characteristic of the typified strain of Kluyveromyces fragilis B0399, activated by an appropriate balanced mix containing fiber and hydrolyzed proteins, to which the vitaminic and proteinic contribution of Saccaaromyces cerevisiae is added.
The lactic typified yeasts (Kluyveromyces fragilis B0399) contained in BioVal plus, though presenting similar biological characteristics to active natural yeasts (i.e. brewer's yeast), stand out for their higher proteinic content and for their marked enzymatic activity which is able to demolish carbohydrates (lactose in particular, thanks to the enzyme beta-galactosidase) into simple sugars with the formation of lactic acid. This acid, by lowering or even blocking the pH in some tracts of the intestine, favors the bioregulation and modulation of the intestinal bacterial flora (probiotic action) slowing the development of the proteolitic type of microbic flora (enteric coliforms) and promoting the development of the so-called "beneficial" intestinal flora (i.e. Lactobacilli) which allows for a correct digestion of food, the development of competitive action on pathogenic micro-organisms and consequently a better assimilation of the nutritional elements.
The particular property of the lactic yeasts contained in BioVal plus is its capacity to maintain a marked replication vitality even at very low pH levels (3 – 3.5) . In virtue of their high chitin content, they are therefore resistant to the action of gastric juices and can effectively reach the intestinal tract where they carry out their metabolic activity.
BIOVAL PLUS NOTABLY DISTINGUISH FROM BREWER'S YEAST AND LACTIC FERMENT
In short, the typified lactic yeasts of BioVal plus present particular biological characteristics which notably distinguish them from brewer's yeast and lactic ferment in that:
- they have an elevated resistance to gastric juices so are therefore able to effectively penetrate the gastric barrier , involving vaster areas of the lower intestine and of the colon
- they have an elevated enzymatic activity (beta-galactosidase) (Fig.1) which makes it suitable for individuals who are intollerant to lactose.
- they have a marked activity of bioregulation and modulation of the intestinal bacteric flora
- they have an elevated resistance to the action of wild range of antibiotics.
BENEFITS
BioVal plus , by bioregulating and modulating the intestinal bacterial flora, is able to prevent (prophylactic effect) and to ward off all intestinal problems caused by alterations of the bacterial flora (intestinal dismicrobism). The intestinal bacterial flora can undergo changes for different reasons: incorrect or unbalanced diet, an imperfect digestion, stress from physical or mental fatigue, antibiotic therapies, debilitations following pharmacological treatments, physical exhaustion and also from psychological and emotional factors which lead to an irritability of the colon.
BioVal plus is recommended as an adjuvant to treatment and as a preventive treatment in cases which manifest or could manifest intestinal dismicrobism.
Furthermore, the lactic yeasts present in BioVal plus , because of their particular enzymatic makeup, "demolish" cow's milk and its dairy by-products, thus carrying out a significantly favorable action for those individuals who are intolerant to lactose.

USE AND APPLICATIONS
BioVal plus LC may be used:
- as an adjuvant to treatments in cases regarding intestinal dismicrobic syndromes, syndromes regarding altered bacterial flora (colitis, aspecific enteritis, etc.), intestinal dismicrobism from antibiotics, dismicrobism from stress due to physical and psychic fatigue, irritable colon.
- as a preventive treatment in all cases which could lead to intestinal dismicrobic syndromes.
- as a dietetic, for its equilibrating effect , even aesthetically visible: healthier and more luminous skin and hair;
- simply as a dietary supplement which is easily digested and assimilated due to its elevated protein content and ,above all, for its high content of free aminoacids and of vitamins;
- as a disintoxicant; it is especially recommended for individuals who are intolerant to lactose to facilitate intestinal functions in women who are pregnant or nursing.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The recommended dosage for adults and children is 1 capsule or phial a day.
The doses can be doubled if the product is used as an adjuvant to pharmacological therapies (ex. antibiotic therapies) and in subjects under stress, even psychological or emotional.
No undesirable effects were verified in conjunction with the use of the product and neither were there interactions or reactions from overdose. Nonetheless, if any undesirable effects should occur the patient should contact his doctor or pharmacist.
